US-EU Influence downsliding in the Middle East

The news that Iran is to provide $50million in funds to the Palestinian Government comes as no surprise, nor is the fact the Russia is also financially backing the cash strapped Hamas Government. Further, it comes as no surprise that Israel has started to bomb the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, despite the fact that the Hamas has kept its word and maintained a truce with Israel for over a year now.

With both the USA and the EU withdrawing funds from the Palestinian Government, they have inadvertantly placed themselves in a situation where their influence will continue its downslide in the Middle East.
