Google's 2020 Plan

One either loves Google or one hates them, and there doesn’t appear to be a middle ground for many people. Ever since Google came onto the internet scene, they have steadily increased their search market share globally, while at the same time launching various products and services as if on an ad hoc basis.

Many have sat there wondering where Google was heading, whether they actually had a plan or whether they were simply “throwing things in the air and seeing what worked”. However, if you look at what they currently offer, their products and services fall into four main categories - entertainment [video, gmail, talk, picasa etc], education [maps, translate, earth etc], office [pack, writely, finance etc] and search [desktop, books, directory etc].
